Itinerary

1. Flight to Beijing (dep. 20:55).

2. Arrive Beijing (12:40). Transfer to hotel. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit to the Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

3. Morning flight to Chengdu. After lunch, visit to the Giant Panda Research Base.

4. Bus to Leshan. Visit to Buddas.

5. Day trip to the top of holy mountain Emishan (bus and chairlift). Possibility of seeing the light phenomenon “Buddha’s Aureole”.

6. Drive to viewing spot north of Leshan – the spot enabling the longest viewing. Eclipse starts 07:37 - view the eclipse (total 08:39 – 08:44) - finishes 09:56. Continue driving onto Chengdu. Afternoon visit to teahouse and relax in Renmin Park.

7. Morning flight to Beijing. Afternoon visit to the Summer Palace. Dinner and evening at acrobatic show.

8. Beijing. Morning visit to Ancient Observatory and Temple of Heaven. After lunch visit to Temple of Earth and Lama Temple. Dinner and evening at Chinese opera.

9. Beijing. Day excursion to Great Wall at Mutianyu and Ming Tombs (Ding Ling).

10. Walking tour of hutongs. Visits to the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower. Lunch with local family in hutong. Afternoon free. Beijing Duck banquet in evening.

11. Transfer to airport. Dep Beijing (14:20), arrive Amsterdam (18:35).
